Organic Farmers – That’s Part of Who We Are

Simply put, our number one goal and priority is to produce fruits and vegetables of the highest quality. There are many steps involved in this, from ensuring we always meet the strictest standards, verifying quality control throughout the entire process, inspection of all our seeds before they are sent to the farmers, and more.

We also pride ourselves in being organic farmers, which means that we strive to limit the use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. This helps to maintain optimal growing conditions, reduces toxins’ exposure to our customers, and provides a more sustainable option for the environment, as organic farmers use less energy, generate less water and soil pollution, and release less carbon.

The Overall Process

The overall farming process is similar, whether organic or not, but where we do see a big difference is in soil conditions. Organic farmers monitor conditions much more than in traditional farming to ensure its utmost quality. However, when it comes to traditional farming, farmers use harsh chemicals to treat the soil before planting any seeds. There is also heavy chemical use on the seeds and water systems. However, organic farmers value the soil quality and depend on it heavily – it is fed only organic materials, mulch, manure and compost.

There is also a strong emphasis on pest control, crop rotation and monitoring the earthworm population. Organic farming is not necessarily done without any pesticides or fertilisers, but organic farmers are strict on limiting the use of synthetic substances, which contain chemicals that can be harmful. Instead, they use natural fertilisers like compost.

Negev Produce’s Vision

It was no question that we wanted to build and grow our company in accordance with organic farming practices – it’s who we are and we wouldn’t have it any other way. As such, we also strive to keep our prices fair. Produce from organic farmers often comes at a higher cost, but we work hard to be still accessible to everyone – starting with our distributors and ultimately the end consumer. We comply with the most advanced standards and regulations, with our organic farmers involved every step of the way.

And when it comes to our end consumers, they can rest assured that they are not consuming any genetically modified organisms (GMOs). And that’s not all – many people agree that organic farmers produce better-tasting fruits and vegetables with more nutrients.

It’s in our DNA to work with the best organic farmers who ensure that all of our fruits and vegetables are grown in optimal conditions, providing the freshest produce that tastes great and provides excellent nourishment. It is also part of Negev Produce’s mission to be competitive in the international market – we currently export to dozens of countries in Europe, Russia, Scandinavia and the US, and are adamant to keep our promise that all of our distributors and customers are receiving only the highest quality organic produce.
